To resolve the issue of incomplete revenue reporting, Begin Software implemented an automated solution using Power Automate and Excel scripting. This approach seamlessly aggregated revenue data from archived and active accounts directly within Antech's Salesforce environment, eliminating manual reconciliation and providing a unified revenue perspective.

1. Data Collection
How it works: We began by collecting the necessary data from two primary sources: LOBA account details were extracted directly from Antech's Salesforce platform, while the corresponding revenue numbers were pulled from their Power BI system. This dual-source approach ensured we captured all relevant information needed for the revenue aggregation.

Why it matters: This step established the foundation for the entire process by ensuring that all relevant data points were accurately gathered. By pulling data from both Salesforce and Power BI, we ensured a comprehensive dataset for the subsequent automated aggregation.
2. Automated Aggregation with Custom Logic
How it works: To automate the complex calculations, we developed a custom JavaScript function that was stored within an Excel script. This script was designed to both identify matching archived and active accounts and accurately sum up the revenue numbers. This custom logic was then integrated with Power Automate, creating an automated workflow that performed the necessary calculations to produce a unified revenue total for each account.

Why it matters: This step replaced the time-consuming and error-prone manual calculations with an automated process that was both efficient and accurate. 3. Salesforce Data Update
How it works: The aggregated revenue data was then automatically updated into the designated fields within Antech's Salesforce platform. This process ensured that the combined revenue figures were readily accessible to the sales team within their existing Salesforce environment.

This allowed them to have a complete and accurate revenue perspective for each account.
